06/25/15   Former Pate's Place Pawn In Bearden Charged With Theft

A former employee of Pate's Place Pawn Shop in Bearden has been charged with theft of property. According to a police report filed along with the charges in Ouachita County Circuit Court, 27 year old Nicholas Evans of Bearden was caught on security cameras inside the store, taking lottery tickets, scratching off some and putting more in his pocket.  Evans is also charged with using Pate's dealer license to order a handgun and then not paying for it.  Evans was initially charged in the crime on January 28,  by Bearden City Marshall John Ainsworth. Evans has no prior criminal record.
