06/22/15  Davidson charged

Charges against 53 year old Carla Davidson of Pine Bluff have been  upgraded to include capital murder, That according to word from Jefferson County Prosecutor Kyle Hunter.  Davidson, who made her initial appearance in Jefferson County District Court on Friday morning before Circuit Judge Kim Bridgeforth, is also facing charges of theft of property and aggravated robbery in connection with the death of 84 year old Esbend Sheridan.

An investigation into Sheridan's death began last Wednesday when sanitation workers discovered Sheridan's body along U-S 79..south of Pine Bluff. Major Lafayette Woods Jr. said the assault took place after 9pm Tuesdayat Sheridan's mobile home near where his body was found.  Davidson was a care giver for Sheridan's ex-wife Loretta Sheridan, with whom she lived and Woods said Davidson often visited Esbend Sheridan to receive  payments for health care services. Davidson told investigators that her actions were in self-defense after Sheridan had made unwanted sexual advances toward her.
