06/19/15  S.A.U. Names Honor Students

Southern Arkansas University has announced the names of 272 students who made 4.0 grade averages to qualify for the President's List following the spring semester.  Among those honored were two students from Bearden, Debra Snelgrove, a senior early childhood education major and Jesse Walker, a sophomore computer and information science major. Leslie Sallee a sophomore at S-A-U made the deans list.  To qualify for that honor a student must complete 12 or more semester hours and attain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Antoninette Johnson of Bearden High School has been selected by S-A-U to receive the Valedictorian-Salutatorian cholarship which includes $3,300.00 per semester and has a four year value of $26,000.00.  Johnson is the daughter of Cicely Parham. Mykenzi Word of Bearden High School has been selected to receive the Achievement Scholarship, that includes $1,000.00 per semester and has a four year value of $8,000.00.  Mykenzi is the daughter of Seth and Christy Word of Bearden.
