06/19/15  First Day of 29th Annual Gazebo Festival

 

Today is the first day of the 29th annual Gazebo Festival in Bearden. We talked to Cleo Beard on the Bearden Brunch Bunch broadcast this week about the festival.  Today the parade will be held at 5:30 with line up at 5 at the Bearden High School parking lot..

Beard is in charge of the car show which will be set up at the corner of Poplar and 2nd street in Bearden.  Beard's hoping for a good turn out and he'll be handing out lots of prizes for participants.

Cleo says there's lots going on all day Saturday with live performances on the Gazebo stage beginning at 11am, but all the events won't be on stage,

At 4:30 tomorrow afternoon Mayor Russell Davis will announce the winner of the Bearden Flag contest.  There were 15 entries for that competition. raft booths will be set up..lots of food. The 3rd annual rib cook off begins at 8:30 tomorrow morning. Three cash prizes will be awarded, and the 4th annual double elimination Baggo tournament will be held.  Entry fee is 30 dollars a team.  Contact  Melissa Faucett for more information at 833-1843. Raffle winners will be announced Saturday night before the fireworks display begins at 9:45.
