06/11/15  Ouachita County Sheriff's Report

 

According to a report by Lt. James Bolton,  on June 2, James Adams came to the sheriff's office to report the theft of a handgun.  Adams stated that while he was out of town in April, someone broke into his vehicle in his yard.  Adams said he didn't report the incident because he couldn't tell anything was missing.  On Saturday, May 30, Adams said he remembered he had put his Rugar 9MM handgun in his vehicle before he left town in April and forgot about it.  The gun was valued at 400 dollars. 

On June 5, Sgt Chris Gill responded to a disturbance call on 376 South. When he  arrived Gill spoke to 25 year old Victoria Mitchell who stated that she and her aunt 46 year old Victoria Morgan had a verbal altercation that turned physical, and both women ended up on the floor punching each other.  Morgan ended up at the emergency room at OCMC with a bloody nose and bruises Both Victoria Morgan and Victoria Mitchell were cited for 3rd degree battery.

On June 5,  Lt. James Bolton of the Ouachita County Sheriff's office responded to 388 Ouachita 77 to meet with Mike Kidd of the Harmony Grove water association about theft of services. Kidd stated he had removed the water meter from the residence on June 4, for non payment.  He said he installed a locking metal lid to the meter box. When he came back to check, he found water running out of the top of the meter box.  The locking lid had been broken off and a piece of pipe installed where the meter should be.  The water had been turned on and was leaking around the pipe.  Kidd turned the water off again and replaced the lid. A damage report was not immediately available.
