06/10/15  Wardlaw Says Another Special Legislative Session Is Possible

Arkansas' top official tasked with preventing, detecting and investigating Medicaid fraud has announced his resignation. Medicaid Inspector General Jay Shue said yesterday that he'll step down but didn't say why.  It's also unclear when he'll resign. Shue is the first person to hold the position, which was created by the state legislature in 2013.  He said recoupment's of improperly paid funds tripled from 1 point 1 million in 2013 to more than 3 millions dollars in 2015. The governor's spokesman, J.R. Davis said a replacement for Shue will be made shortly. On South Arkansas Sunrise last week, 8th district representative Jeff Warlaw of Warren predicted another special session of the legislature will be called to deal with medicaid.
