06/10/15  Services Improve For Dallas County Vets

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has approved a proposal this week to rebrand the state's veterans affairs department and improve its services. Hutchinson on Monday approved the plan that was proposed by the department. Its director, Matt Snead, says that before now, the role of the agency had not been well-defined. The agency also wants to build relationships between vets and Arkansas communities and businesses and develop a long-range plan for aging veterans.

It also aims to improve the effectiveness of county veteran service officers who help veterans receive their government benefits. Dallas County veterans service officer, Terry Thacker of Holly Springs. says services have improved for the vets and he'll help them anyway he can.
