06/09/15  Highway 167 Closure Near Hampton

Soil testing on Highway 167 just north of Hampton will require lane closures in Calhoun County. According to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department officials, the contractor will be taking soil samples at three bridges over Champagnolle Creek, and the lane closure will extend one mile..between log mile .70 and 1.70.  The work will reduce traffic to one lane, alternately closing the northbound and southbound lanes and shoulders.

The closures will begin tomorrow morning at 7am until 7pm and continue for about two weeks, weather permitting. The work is part of the proposed projects to widen Highway 167..part of the Connecting Arkansas Program. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when approaching and traveling through the area...watch for flaggers.
