06/08/15  Two New Hope Residents Die In Separate Traffic Accidents

 

Two New Hope, Arkansas residents died in separate traffic accidents over the weekend. According to a state police report, on Friday 83 year old Leroy C. Bogan of New Hope died when he failed to stop at a stop sign as he entered U.S. highway 278 from state highway 32 in Hempstead County.  Bogan was pronounced dead at Wadley Hospital in Hope.  The driver of the other vehicle was not identified in the report. The weather conditions were clear, the roadway dry at the time of the crash at 11:58 Friday morning.

On Saturday morning, 42 year old Steven Parker of New Hope was killed in a one vehicle accident in Garland county on state highway 227 south of Nomoe Road.  According to the state police report, a 1991 Pontiac driven by Parker left the roadway and struck a concrete bridge and overturned in a creek.  Parker was pronounced dead at the scene by Garland County Deputy Coroner Ryan Hamilton. The weather conditions were clear, the roadway dry at the time of the crash at 8:45 Saturday morning.
