06/02/15  Jefferson County Circuit Court-Charges Filed

 

On May 22, Jefferson County Prosecutor Kyle Hunter filed charges in Circuit Court in Pine Bluff against 57 year old Sharon Patrick of Pine Bluff on charges of domestic battery in the first degree. The Police report states that on April 19th..Pine Bluff Police officers responded to a report of a shooting on East 6th Avenue. When officers arrived they were met by Sharon Patrick who stated she shot her husband, Willie because he was beating on her.  Mrs. Patrick has a few marks on her face.  Officers followed a blood trail and discovered Willie in a bedroom lying against the bed.  Patrick was transported to the hospital where he was treated for a gunshot to the abdomen.  Mrs. Patrick, who officers described as very intoxicated, said she was trying to shoot him in the legs to scare him.

On May 9, Pine Bluff police responded to a report of a battery at  McDonalds on South Olive Street.  The manager told police two employees had been in a verbal altercation and were told to go home and cool off. One of the employees was walking across the parking lot when the other, Shanika Tynes tried to run down the other, identified as Thurston Wade.  S Wade was able to avoid being struck by Tyne's vehicle.  Tynes then left at a high rate of speed.  Tynes was charged in circuit court by Prosecutor Kyle Hunter with aggravated assault.

On May 22 Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Kyle Hunter filed charges of theft by receiving against 42 year old John W. Dixon Jr. of Pine Bluff.  Between Oct 29, 2014 and Dec 26, 2014, Dixon is alleged to have pawned approximately 3 thousand dollars worth of power equipment belonging to Robert Weaver, who's in the tree trimming business.  Weaver said he had hired Dixon last September to cut some wood for him.  Dixon left in December.

Charges of aggravated robbery have been filed in Jefferson County circuit court against 20 year old Jarmall Kelly of Pine Bluff.  The charges are the result an armed robbery at Cricket Wireless on South Olive on April 8th.  An employee identified Kelley in a line-up.  Kelly had an accomplice who is not identified in the report.  The two made off with about 2 thousand dollars in the robbery.  Kelly denied robbing the store.

And Twenty-three year old Demarcus Hawkins of Pine Bluff was charged on May 22 in Jefferson County Circuit Court with 1st degree battery and possession of a firearm by a felon. According to the police report, on April 24, Hawkins got into a physical altercation with Joshua Donson at the Exxon station on west 28th.  Hawkins left and came back with a gun and began randomly firing several shots through a crowded parking lot, hitting Donson in the right arm and shoulder.  Hawkins fled the scene and was later located at his mother's home. Donson was transported to the hospital and was treated for his wounds. A criminal history on Hawkins showed he is a convicted felon.
