Forty year old Shawn Word of Bearden has been charged with violation of the hot check law.  The charges were filed against Word on May 19 by Deputy Prosecuting attorney R. Jeff Sawyer in circuit court in Camden. Word is charged with passing hot checks between December 6 and 20 knowing that the checks were no good.

Twenty four year old Joshua Alan Daily of Camden has been charged in circuit court with possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, meth and drug paraphernalia.  During a search of Daily's vehicle police found a meth pipe and a bag of white powder believed to be meth. The charges were filed on May 20 by Deputy Prosecutor Phillip A. Stone. 

On May 20, Deputy Prosecuting attorney R. Jeffrey Sawyer filed charges of first degree battery, terroristic act, aggravated assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child against 22 year old Darius Jermel Ollison of Camden.  According to a police report, police responded to a call of a shooting at a residence on Country Club Lane.  When officers arrived they were told a man came to the front door of the house and Linda Ann Williams came to the door, a witness said she heard Williams tell the subject to leave the property, the man backed away, drew a handgun and shot through the front door striking Williams in her left arm and hip.  The man then fled the scene.  Police were later able to take the man into custody, identified as Ollison.  There were two children in the home at the time of the shooting, a three year old and a six month old child.
