05/18/15  Resignations and Hires at Bearden School Board Meeting

Several teachers turned in their resignations at the Bearden School Board meeting Thursday night, and several more were hired.  The new hires included Anthony Hammonds of Bearden who was hired to teach 4 thru 8 grade Social Studies and as assistant coach.
Joshua Nix of Sparkman was hired to teach 9 thru 12 grade math and assistant boys basketball coach.  Hannah Pennington will teach 4 thru 8 grade Social Studies and literacy and Kacey Olvey was hired to teach K thru 4 and Title 2-A class size reduction.  Mrs. Clark was hired as High School Secretary and Linda Davis was hired as part time cafeteria worker.

The board discussed and passed proposed certified policy changes that included allowing teachers who are licensed to carry handguns to carry them onto campus but locked in their vehicles. The policy changes also state that students will have their own ID and pass word.  And emergency drills, lock down training with panic button technology will be required.
