05/15/15  Lockheed Martin at Camden Receives a 174-Million Dollar Military Sales Contract

 

Lockheed Martin at Camden has received a 174 million dollar foreign military sales contract for production of the Army Tactical Missile System for the U.S. Army and the United Arab Emirates. According a story in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, it's being reported that the 124 Army tactical Missile Systems and associated services will be built at the Camden facility. The website also states that all of the contract's work will be done at the Lockheed Martin facility in Camden and is expected to be completed by July 30, 2018. Governor Hutchinson has called for a special session of the legislature to help strengthen a bid from Lockheed Martin to also win a contract for the Camden facility to build the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle for the U.S Army and the Marine Corps. Lockheed Martin's Camden plant has received more than 60 awards over the past decade, including the 2012 Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award.
