05/15/15  Inmate Charged With Battery

A Pine Bluff man incarcerated with the Department of correction has been charged in Circuit court in Pine Bluff with second degree Battery. The charges were filed by the prosecuting attorney's office against 38 year old Shed Love.  According to a report filed by investigator Huston Talley, on March 5, Corporal Shelia Smith and Sergeant Gregory Green were in west isolation 3 of the prison serving disciplinary.  They came to the cell housing Shed and were instructing him where to sign the papers when he reached through the bars of his cell and struck Cpl Smith twice in the face.  Smith was taken to the infirmary and treated for injuries.  Love refused to give a statement to Talley.
