05/11/15  Marks Mills Civil War Battle Re-Enactment This Weekend

The Marks Mills Civil War Battle re-enactment will be held this weekend in Fordyce May 15-17.  The actual battle site will be about a mile out of Fordyce on highway 8.  Bill Farmer of Bearden and Richard Ledbetter of Fordyce were guests on South Ark Sunrise last week to talk about the event.  Farmer discussed what takes place on Friday May 15 .

Farmer said registrations to participate in the battle have been coming in from all over the country.

A knife show featuring well known knife maker Bill Post will be held in conjunction with the reenactment at the National Guard Armory.  A Bowie knife like the confederates carried will be raffled off on Saturday at the Grand Ball.  Tickets for that are available at the Dallas County Museum, along with T-shirts.
