05/11/15  Dallas County Extension Service To Sponsor Area Garden Tour Wednesday

The Dallas County Extension Service is sponsoring a Fordyce area garden tour on Wednesday May 13, from 1-4:30 pm.  Anyone interested in the tour is asked to meet at the Dallas County Extension office at 1pm.  There's no charge to participate.  Participants must provide their own transportation to the locations. This years locations will include Dr. Chuck Kauffman to learn about straw bale gardening and muscadines. Dr. Hugh Nutt Farm, raised bed and container gardening. Lamar and Judy Evans Farm, plastic mulch, irrigation. Roy W. Mosely-Paul's and Judy's Plants, where you'll learn about tomatoes and greenhouse plants.

Presenters include Dr. Chuch Kauffman, Phil Wallace, Lamar and Judy Evans, Roy W. Mosely, Paul and Judy Smith. Cecilia Roark with NRCS will provide information on High Tunnel Greenhouses.  County agents that will be there include Keith Gresham of Dallas County; John Gavin, Bradley County; Les Walz, Cleveland County; and Jaret Rushing of Calhoun County.
