Betty Higman, a longtime resident of Pine Bluff died Monday in Baltimore, Maryland, where she had resided the past three years.  She was 84. In 1962, Mrs. Higman opened The MaRu Bridal and Ladies Ready to Wear shop in Jefferson Square, which she operated for 50 years. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 Saturday morning at First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff with Rev Kenneth Thornton and Rev Gordon Topping officiating. Burial at Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff.  Visitation is this Friday evening from 5-7pm at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.
