Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Tom Wynne filed a number of criminal cases in Dallas County Circuit Court on March 30. 33 year old Billy Jerrard Ross of Fordyce was charged with aggravated assault as the result of a shooting incident in downtown Fordyce in April of last year.

According to a police report, Rodney Eddington of Fordyce came into the Police Station on April 28 and reported he was sitting in his truck at the red light at 4th and Main when a vehicle driven by Ross drove up. Ross got out of the car he was driving, opened the trunk, took out a shotgun, and shot twice, striking the back of Ross' truck. Eddington was not injured. Eddington said that Ross had threatened him a few months ago.  According to the report, Ross was charged and found guilty of aggravated assault in 2014.

44 year old Anthony Haynes has been charged with second degree forgery for writing an unauthorized check on his mother's account at Regions bank.

28 year old Michael Lee Carter of Fordyce has been charged with battery in the second degree following an incident that occurred on March 22. Carter had previously been charged with third degree battery in 2012.
