Two Fordyce residents were arrested following a traffic stop in Fordyce and cited on four drug charges and one traffic violation. The incident occurred on March 14 around 9:00pm when Dallas County Deputy Ryan Coleman spotted a vehicle without a headlight and made a stop. Coleman said in his report, when he approached the vehicle, the driver, 33 year old William Henry Vaughn, and the passenger, 23 year old Shaketha Whisenhunt, seemed very nervous.

Coleman asked if he could search the vehicle and discovered a small bag of a substance believed to be meth. When Vaughn was asked if he had anything to smoke or drink, he admitted to smoking some meth that was in the purse. The two were charged with possession of meth or cocaine, furnishing prohibited articles, possession of drug paraphernalia, DWI, drugs, and driving with a suspended license.

The two were transported to the Dallas County Detention Center where another bag of meth was found during a search of Whisenhunt.
