04/27/15  “Listening Stop” Thursday April 30 in El Dorado

The next common core “Listening Stop” will be this Thursday from 5-7pm at the El Dorado Conference Center. The governor's council on common core review is a 16 member group appointed by Governor Asa Hutchinson and chaired by Lieutenant Governor's assistant Tim griffin. In an interview during one of his stops in Fordyce. Griffin was asked about common core. He said he's all for standards.

Some parents and educators around the state and across the country have complained that lessons based on common core standards are to challenging for students in some grades and that the federal government was too involved in their passage.
