04/23/15  Dallas County Sheriff McGahee Gives Financial Report to Court 

Dallas County Sheriff Stan McGahee released figures to the Dallas County Quorum Court on jail receipts for the month of March at the Quorum Court meeting Tuesday night.  According to the figures, first quarter receipts totaled $298,806.00. $116,431.00 was paid by the Department of Corrections, Baldwin County Alabama and the U-S Marshall's services for housing inmates. The total housing billed to house prisoners was $101,764.00. Sheriff McGhee said as of today the Dallas County  is owed $58,250.00 by various entities. 

For example, the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections has unpaid bills dating back to July of last year.  The Department of Corrections owes bills dating back to November of last year.  Dallas County picks up the tab of feeding those prisoners and seeing to their other needs.
