04/22/15 Charges Filed Against Cody Sparkman in Shooting Incident


More charges have been filed in the case of a shooting at a rural residence near Bearden on April 15 that wounded a Bearden man. Deputy Prosecutor Phillip A. Stone filed charges in circuit court in Camden against 21-year-old Cody Sparkman of Camden.  Sparkman Is charged with second degree battery. Michael Scott Arnold of Bearden was wounded after a hand gun discharged during an argument over drugs between Arnold and three other men. 

The bullet from the handgun injured one of Arnold's ears and he suffered an injury to his face that a doctor described as being from  blunt force trauma. Sparkman admitted during a police interview that he struck Arnold but didn't know he had been shot. Two other people have had charges filed against them in that case.
