There is littering and then there is illegal dumping. On April 17, Ouachita County Deputy Jarrod Purifoy responded to a call from B&B Gravel just off Highway 9 near Eagle Mills regarding and alleged instance of illegal dumping.  Office manager Missy Dunn told Purifoy someone had dumped a load of roofing debris in the roadway leading into the gravel pit as well as some in the gravel pit off Ouachita 90.  Mrs. Dunn had pictures of the debris. She said a roofing company was doing a job down the road.

Purifoy inquired a representative of the roofing company and he denied that the company was responsible for dumping the debris into the pits.  Mrs. Dunn was advised to install some cameras in the area that might help in the event of further dumping incidents.
