A double fatality resulted following a collision involving three vehicles on US Highway 82 East on Montrose in Ashley County on Saturday. According to a State Police report, 54 year old Kenneth Taylor of Montrose and a passenger in his vehicle, 54 year old Carl Burns of Montrose were both killed.

Two other people were injured in two other vehicles involved in the crash Saturday night. The injured were identified as 45 year old Jorge Mondragon of Crossett, a driver of one of the vehicles, and 42 year old Carolyn Staudy of Lake Village, a passenger in a third vehicle involved in the crash.

According to the State Police report, the vehicle driven by Taylor was West-bound in the East-bound lane. The driver of vehicle number three, who was not identified in the report, attempted to avoid a collision with the Taylor vehicle, but was struck by the Taylor vehicle anyway, causing vehicle three to leave the Highway, coming to rest on the West-bound shoulder. Taylor's vehicle then struck Mondragon's vehicle on the driver's side causing both vehicles to come to rest in the middle of the highway.

The injured were taken to Chicot Memorial Hospital. It was raining at the time of the crash at 8:55 Saturday night.
