In closing remarks at the Fordyce Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting and banquet last Thursday night, Dallas County Medical Center Administrator John Tucker talked about the difficulties of being a small rural hospital. Tucker said 47 hospitals have closed across the country in the last three years, and 27 of those have closed just this past year.
