Lots of bills are being considered in this session of the Arkansas Legislature. House Bill 1827 would create the parents' bill of rights; prohibiting certain actions; specifying rights; clarifying the obligations of school districts and charter schools; and prohibiting certain actions without the consent of a parent or custodian.

House Bill 1784 would make use of a handheld wireless telephone while operating a motor vehicle in a school zone a primary offense and the driver could be stopped or detained solely to determine compliance with this section of the code.

House Bill 1834 would allow a city of the second class to authorize by city ordinance the issuance of alcoholic beverage control board permits to restaurants for the sale of mixed drinks.
