03/16/15 SAU Magnolia President Stepping Down

According to a news release from Southern Arkansas University at Magnolia, the school has appointed an interim provost and vice president for academic affairs. Ben Johnson was chosen to fill the post for the 2015-2016 academic year, as Trey Berry transitions to the role of President.

Berry is replacing University President David Rankin, who is stepping down June 30th. Johnson's appointment as interim provost starts August 1st and continues through June 30th, 2016. Johnson is currently SAU Honor Professor and Ragsdale Professor of Arkansas Studies.

The university will begin a national search to fill the provost position in the Fall.
