03/16/15 Representative Garner in Town Hall Meeting

Trent Garner, working out of Senator Tom Cotton's field office in Eldorado, was in Bearden on Friday, March 13, listening to Bearden area residents about concerns and questions they have. The meeting, held at the Launius Community Building, was attended by only a few, including three Bearden City Council members, Denise Link, Bobby Steelman, and Ronnie Quarles. City recorder, Iva Lou Stokes, also attended the meeting.

The main concern of those attending the meeting was the sewer problems that Bearden has and inquired about possible grant money that might be available. Garner indicated a person in Cotton's office has had fourteen years experience in obtaining grant money and he would communicate to that person that question. Garner said in addition to assisting communities in obtaining grant money, Cotton's office was also interested in making sure veterans and retirees got the money they had earned.

Garner is from Harmony Grove and is a veteran of the war in Afghanistan. Garner said he represents Cotton's office in Ouachita County, along with 21 other counties in South Arkansas.
