03/13/15 Sunshine House Fundraiser

The annual shoot out between the South Arkansas All-Stars and the Jammers of Power 92 will be held tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, at the FBT Fieldhouse on the Fordyce High School Campus. The event, created by Stan Ellis of Fordyce, is a fundraiser for Sunshine House. Ellis told us how he got involved with sunshine house.

Mrs. Wynne says she's very thankful for the way the community pitches in to help the kids at sunshine house. Wynne says she hopeful that the children will be moved into the new facility in two months, and that its all a matter of paperwork.

Children from all over the state receive services from Sunshine House via recommendations from the Department of Human Services. Ellis says the doors will open at the FBT Arena at 4:30pm, and the the first game, a youth basketball game, will tip off at 5:00pm. The main event will tip off at 7:00pm.

Darren Brazeale, the coach for the All-Stars, says he thinks he's got the best team he's ever had. One of the players for the All-Stars stands at 6 feet 10 in.

There will be half time entertainment, including two opportunities to cash in big from half court. A thousand dollars will be awarded by Power 92 to anyone who can hit a half court shot, and 500 dollars will be awarded by Tom Tidwell to anyone who can hit the half court shot. There will be lots of food to enjoy, as well. Ellis promotes it as a family event.
